About Erika
During Erika’s Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Nursing, she completed an elective module in Animal Behaviour and Training which deepened her understanding of why animals behave the way they do. Through this, she experienced first-hand how positive reinforcement and low-stress handling techniques can transform our relationships with animals.
Erika went on to complete a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour, alongside her Low Stress Handling Certificate, and is currently a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC). She now creates bespoke behaviour and training plans for owners, as well as CPD for veterinary practices, helping others adjust their approach to pets and patients for improved welfare and behaviour outcomes.
What we do
We are animal behaviour and training service run by Veterinary Nurse and Clinical Animal Behaviourist Erika Feilberg.
Our judgement-free approach is centred around positive reinforcement and furthering your skills in animal handling. Our focus isn't just your pet, it's about giving you the space to be frustrated by their behaviour and helping you build the knowledge, techniques and confidence to continue their progress long after we're gone. So when new problems arise or challenges return, you can tackle them independently, keeping the bond between you both strong for lasting change.
We help address behaviour associated with...
...fear such as aggression, re-activity, hissing, striking and hiding away.
...frustration or boredom such as destructive play, indoor soiling, scratching, meowing, pacing or excessive barking.
...excitement such as mouthiness, jumping up, pulling on lead and body-slamming.
...trauma surrounding an activity such as meeting people, going to the vets or groomers, cars or carriers.
We know first hand that your pet's behaviour we be very individual to them. Therefore it would be impossible to cover every pets' behaviour in the list above. If you don't see your behaviour concern listed, please provide more detail in the enquiry form below.
“As a neurodivergent trainer and behaviourist, I understand that everyone has their personal strengths and struggles when it comes to learning styles and teaching methods. We all differ in the personal challenges we have faced through life. I endeavour to provide an inclusive and welcoming space for people across all spectrums of race, gender, sexuality and neurodiversity so that personal learning can flourish.”

Testimonials...
“I can't say enough good things about Erika! She's one of the good ones who believes in POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT and not punishment.
Our dog, Boba, was an incredibly reactive dog. She would bark and growl at anyone from passers-by to my brother-in-law...
We're happy to say that Boba is doing so much better now. She's been cuddling with my brother-in-law, has been barely reacting to people, and is able to see dogs without losing control. Getting results wasn't easy but we're making progress every day, all thanks to Erika.”
“Erika is extremely professional and had a mountain of knowledge to help me with problems I have been having with my 2 year old tabby Lucky.
The zoom call we had was thorough with details of both my cats going through all health history and their personalities. After the zoom call ended Erika sent a detailed file of everything we discussed and what I can do to help with Lucky's extra energy.
Can't thank her enough for the help she has given to me.”
FAQs...
Q: Where do training sessions happen?
A: In-person sessions with Erika are limited to the Edinburgh area. Depending on the case, sessions can take place either at your home (with your permission), in public spaces (such as your local park) or any agreed location! But don’t worry, you’ll be able to discuss where and when is best to meet with Erika during your discovery call.
Q: Should I bring anything to my first session?
A: Just you, your pet and lots of treats! If there are any particular items or treat alternatives that you need to bring, you will have discussed it with Erika ahead of time. For dogs, please note that due to welfare and safety protocols, we require harnesses for most training exercises. If you are able to purchase or already own a harness, bring your dog harnessed to your first session. If you need to borrow a harness or have any questions please inform Erika of these during your discovery call.
Q: I don’t know if my behaviour concern is worth filling out the enquiry form?
A: Any behaviour that applies pressure or tension on the relationship between you and your pet is worth addressing. Working to understand and redirect those behaviours which are infuriating, destructive or that you just don't get, reduces stress and anxiety for both you and your pet, leading to a better quality of life and a deeper bond. With most insurance companies covering behaviour work, many of our clients pay nothing out of pocket and therefore addressing their behaviour for healthier outcomes becomes a no-brainer.
